Even as a member, drop-in daycare is still not a preferred method for the happiness of the campers. Daycare reservations should be made in advance. However if you have an emergency situation that arises late evening please come on and we will take your camper. When preparing for daycare, keep the following points in mind.
- Arrival. Arrive at day camp at your scheduled time. We accept both full-day and half-day campers during the designated hours. If you arrive early, you may be charged our babysitting rates. If you arrive late, you may not be able to check in.
- Dressing. Please do not bring your camper to camp with extra clothing or jewelry. We remove all articles before sending your camper out to play. Since we do not crate, all campers are dressed and undressed in the entrance way. Extra items slow down the check in and check out process. Additionally, if a camper wears heirloom jewelry or rhinestone collar, we ask that you leave these valuables at home. Camp Canine is not responsible for lost or broken items.
- Feedings. Best practices dictate that for the health of canines, food must be allowed to digest before engaging in play and activities. If your camper has breakfast in the morning (or lunch before half-day day camp), please allow enough time between feeding and arrival for the food to digest.
- Communication. Please let the camp counselors know upon arrival if you have noticed any strange behavior or physical anomalies on the camper. The counselor will evaluate the situation and make a judgment call about the daycare day. Alternately, the counselor will keep an extra watchful eye for signs that may indicate stress or discomfort.
- Visitation. If you would like to see how your camper interacts with the pack, make arrangements with the office staff to stop by for a visit during your camper's stay. You will be invited to watch the interaction on one of our video cameras. We do not allow customers into the play areas or playgroups for safety reasons.
- Pickup. Arrive promptly to pick up your camper. Daycare closes at 7pm and late pickups will either be charged a babysitting fee or an overnight stay fee, as appropriate. If you know you are running late, call the office ahead of time. We will try to work with you to ensure that your camper is available for pick up when you arrive.
