Each day, we are reminded of how many of our four-legged friends are left to fend for themselves or who live in unsuitable conditions and find themselves watching the clock, hoping for a miracle before their time runs out. We know that, often, the dog (or cat, or ferret, etc.) is just collateral damage resulting from either an avoidable (e.g., pet owners tire of the responsibility) or unavoidable (Katrina incident) occurrence.
The 'former Adorable Adoptables' listed on this page are a testament to the other side of the 'collateral damage' coin! These lovable pups have all been adopted and now begin a journey that proves that sometimes new beginnings are the best beginnings! Join us in celebrating the good fortune of these good guys! We extend a special 'thank you' to the special people who welcomed these new family members into their heart and home.

Brindy
They do not come any sweeter than me..I am a 2-3 year old boxer wanting a new home to enjoy life with. I had a rough start when I underwent surgery for eating something I should not have and while recovering I did it again so they had to take out part of my intestines the second time around! I recovered great and am ready to find that special person/family to call my own.

Shirley
I am the cutest girl ever! I was one of only a few of us who made it out of that nasty situation in Zebulon early April where my owners got busted for not taking care of all us and making us live in conditions that were terrible. My neck was sore from having a collar on that was too tight where I was tied up, so I would prefer to wear a harness in the future.

Taylor
I was rescued from the Wake County Shelter to start my new life. I am a sweet boy full of energy and can't wait to see what life has in store for me! I love, love, love to play and would love to go to a home with another 4-legged friend to spend my time with. I was born around 01/01/2010 so I am very much a puppy! I love people, dogs, and life in general. Because I am young and get to play all day at Camp with other kids, I am still learning my manners and will need some help. I am very treat motivated and will do anything for a treat if you have the time to teach me what I need to know! |

Margarita
Margarita is a beautiful fawn brown Chihuahua who we estimate is about 2 years old. She has large brown eyes that just beg to be taken to her forever home. Little Margarita, like most Chihuahuas, is a big dog in a little dog's body! She has lots of personality, is learning to trust people again, and answers to Rita (if she decides to answer).
Rita's full bio and photo will be online soon, but if you are interested in learning more in the meantime, contact us here at camp. |

Max
Max joined the Camp Family in early 2010 and is ready to find his forever home. He was released to us by a lady whose children moved and left him behind to stay tied up in a back yard. Max is entirely too loving and sweet to miss out on having an indoor home with a family to love. Max is a 2 year old lab mix. Not only is he handsome but extremely smart as well and enjoys learning new things and tricks. He walks great on a leash and enjoys going for walks or hikes in the woods. He has been socializing with other dogs at camp and really doing great learning to play as this is new for Max. |

Goldie
Goldie is a fun girl who loves to be on the move! She came with Sassy from the Shelter who also needed more time to find her forever home. She is around 2 years old, a golden mix weighing about 30pds putting her on the smaller side. Goldie has a ton of personality and is learning how to play with other dogs. When she first came to Camp we quickly learned that she had probably never played with other dogs in her past. She loves life and being the active girl she is, she had to learn how to play with other kids without playing too rough. Goldie is a smart girl who wants to learn and has learned a lot in a short time being at Camp but will benefit from a family that will keep her social skills up. |

Lucy
Lucy is a beautiful girl that was found on HWY 64. She loves all people and other dogs. She frequently goes for sleepovers with families where she can have the in home attention. She sure likes curling up on the couch and receiving that one on one attention. Everyone loves her and would add her to their pack if they had the room. Most of our customers already have multiple pets and not ready to add another at this time. She loves to run and is the fastest there is! She would make an excellent running partner or companion for the active household. If you would like more information on this sweet girl please contact us as we would love to tell you more about this camp sweetheart! |

Drako
Drako joined our Camp Canine family as a rescue late August 2009. He was abandoned in a home where his family moved leaving him behind. A neighbor alerted us of the situation and asked if we could help him! What a perfect boy this sweetheart is. He is approximately 3 years old and is probably a mix of Australian Cattledog and or Australian Shepherd. He loves to play with other dogs and has been getting a ton of socialization time since we took him in. He would make an excellent addition to any family. He knows how to sit, shake, lay down, stay, housetrained, etc. He loves people and forms bonds very quickly. |

Cala
Cuddly. Adorable. Loving. Adoptable. That's our Cala! We suspect she was born somewhere around the end of September, making her around 12 weeks old today. She is a sweet little girl who is anxious to please and loves all creatures - human and canine! She has not been tested with cats, but we suspect she would show the usual puppy curiosity and get along well with a cat who is comfortable around dogs. Cala is a bundle of joy and is probably a Lab mix. Based on her physical characteristics, she'll probably be around 40 pounds when full grown. She has no obvious medical issues and would benefit from a forever home with humans accustomed to raising puppies. |
